Our coasters feature a leatherette insert and a heavy chrome plated base which has a foam padding on the underside to protect your table surface. Because the coaster is inset, it holds in the condensation. Most hard surface coasters (and flat coasters) don’t allow for catching the liquid and really don’t work well for the intended purpose. The leatherette insert washes easy and doesn’t stain like real leather would in a wet environment..
